It’s 2010 and you would think by now, or at least the movies would have us believe, that we would be completely run by robots. They would be doing our laundry and cooking our meals, but they are not. Man is still forced to perform these tasks themselves, however there is one task that can be controlled by robots and to me, it’s the most daunting and terrible task, so by all means. I’m talking about cleaning your above ground swimming pool. In case you didn’t know, they now have automatic pool cleaners for your above ground swimming pool so you will never have to break out that manual vacuum out ever again.

The way they work is very simple. You simply plug the cleaner into any standard outdoor outlet and drop it into your swimming pool and let it go. It will run for a couple of hour or less and have your pool completely cleaned. Inside each unit there are two motors. One motor powers the wheels that move the cleaner along the bottom of the pool. The other motor powers a pump that sucks water along with dirt and debris off the bottom of your pool and through a filter bag located inside the cleaner. Once the water passes through the filter bag, clean water blows out of the top of the cleaner and when it’s all done all you have to do is empty the filter bag that is filled with all that dirt and debris. Just take the robot out of the water and open it up. Pull out the bag and turn it inside out.

From here you can spray it with a hose to get all of the debris out of the bag. Another benefit is the bag is machine washable. These robotic pool cleaners have revolutionized the way humans clean pools.
