Panasonic is one of the leading companies in consumer electronics. This year they released the Panasonic DMP-BD85 and DMP-BDT350 models that are set to compete with Samsung C6900. The former is a Blu-Ray player with wireless connectivity, and the latter is a 3D capable player. They are two of the best players today, and let’s see which one has the features you are looking for.

The BDT350 is more expensive of the two players. If you have allotted a bigger budget, it will be a great addition indeed to your home theater equipment. It is capable of multi-format playback so you can load up your standard DVDs, DivX, Blu-Ray discs and BD-Java Blu-Ray. Importantly, it is 3D capable so you can view your movies in amazing 3D using this player.

The BD85 is the Blu-Ray player that has the features present in both BD45 and BD65. What makes the Panasonic DMP-BD85 unique compared to BD45 and BD65 is that it can connect to your network without the use of wires. The included adapter will seek out the signals, and all you have to do is plug it in its USB port.

It has audio codecs for Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD. Add to that the 7.1 channel analog output that brings out crisp sound effects. It also has the Jitter Purifier feature for clear-sounding bass. As for picture quality, the astounding color depth is due to the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus as well as 4:4:4 signalling.

These two are high-end players that deserve much credit. In terms of performance, they present good audio and video qualities and you certainly enjoy having them in your living room. Alongside these two, the BD45 and BD65 are released. This year, complaints regarding slow booting speed have been answered for all players. So, if you want a fast player, get a Panasonic.

Long lines, expensive tickets, overpriced popcorn, crowded theaters, and the unsavory experience of finding a gum wad on your armrest: with so many woes awaiting at the cinema, it’s no wonder home theaters are becoming a popular choice for movie enthusiasts. And riding the crest of the home-cinema wave is a sophisticated new piece of technology: the HD projector. With their dazzling image quality, large-screen projection abilities, and effortless mobility, HD projectors allow you to bring the best of the theater experience straight into your home. Choose a movie on Netflix or pop a DVD into your laptop, microwave a bag of popcorn, set up your HD projector, and voila: you can watch a high-definition film without paying for a movie ticket, without sitting behind a crying baby, without arriving late and getting stuck in the last row, and without needing to change out of your pajamas. What more could you ask for?

When it comes to technology, most people agree: simple is better. No one wants to spend hours thumbing through complex manuals, lugging around heavy devices, or rearranging furniture to make room for giant equipment — especially when your goal is simply to watch a movie in your living room. Luckily, HD projectors are small, compact, and wonderfully easy to use, making any movie-watching experience a true pleasure. The only equipment required to watch media on an HD projector is the projector itself and a white sheet or blank wall; no giant television sets or permanent screens are necessary. Simply hook up the HD projector according to the instruction manual, cover up any windows or light sources for maximum darkness, and position the projector so its image splashes against the wall or sheet. In no time, you’ll be ready to watch movies, shows, or games to your heart’s content.

If you are setting up your own home theater, you may well be considering the option of installing a projector and a fixed projector screen. Many people find that this works well for them, and if you end up buying a second-hand or a refurbished screen you may find that it ends up being quite a bit cheaper than using a DVD player and big screen television.

Other places that frequently use projector screens are schools and offices. Schools usually seem to opt for the electric projector screens however, as that way they can roll them up when they are not being used. Of course the retractable projector screen is more expensive, in most cases, than the fixed projector screen but sometimes it is just so much more convenient to pay a little extra and get something more suitable.

When it comes to any room that uses a projector, with the office meeting room included, the room needs to be quite dark in order for people to clearly see what is being shown on the screen. Depending on the room, this may require black-out blinds being installed on all of the windows–especially in a room that is very light, and has a lot of windows. You should also take this into consideration when you plan out your home theater.

Fixed projector screens work best when the home theater is in a room that does not double as a family room. Many people have their home theaters in the basement, and in many ways this is an ideal situation for a theater. Generally it is not a problem with being too light, and you are also able to leave the screen on the wall at all times.

Of course, if you do use a fixed projector screen, you do need to be mindful that the screen itself does not get damaged at all and you will have to find a way to regularly dust it off also.

If you have a permanent, separate location for your home theater and you are sure that it will not become damaged at all, then the cheapest projector screen would definitely be the fixed projector screen.

At its inception, CCTV technology was nowhere near as advanced as it is today. The camera enclosures were very bulky and the images they recorded were low resolution, mono colored, and consisted of very few frames per second. These original CCTV cameras were fixed to their mounts and they were not able to rotate or track people or object. In the modern world today, however, technology is such that any home CCTV Kit can have ultra-high resolution video recording technology built into miniature cameras. These cameras can be set to automatically follow interesting events happening in the areas surrounding them. To be more concise, modern CCTV security systems are so far ahead of the original models that they can almost be considered an entirely different type of technology.

CCTV was first implemented midway through WW2 and it was initially used to observe military outposts and bases where top secret information was stored. Gradually over the years it then filtered through society, starting with the wealthy elite who could afford to implement these expensive video recorders at their large estates. As time has approached the present day, it then spread to medium sized enterprises and onto small businesses, and now the cost has lowered to the point where home owners and small businesses can install a CCTV kit for a fraction of what the price once was.

The arrival of the CCTV kit heralds an ease of installation and use that was previously unknown. The quality of the recorded video is fast approaching that of modern HD televisions and tapes have made way for Digital Video Recorders (DVR’s) that capture all footage onto internal computer hard discs. Add to this the trend that wireless IP CCTV kits are now available, which eliminate the need for wires to link the cameras and the recording device, and you can see how different the CCTV industry has become.

Steaming live Mobile Video is it here now? It was not too long ago for those who remember the first consumer mobile phones that were available looked like a brick they were very bulky and heavy to carry but they still gave us mobility. Since then in a few short years there have been many changes and for awhile the trend was to get smaller in weight and size. However it is now heading back the other way again with bigger mobiles being what everyone is looking to buy these days mostly for the larger screens and for easy use of touch screens like the new iPods, but what about for streaming live mobile video?

2 G, 2.5 And 3G Networks

Some say steaming live video for mobiles is already here however is this really the case? Yes Mobile Video Worldwide is here now and has been for awhile, but the quality is another thing to consider and I have a friend that is just waiting to stream some live sports games on his mobile but in his words “right now it sucks”. Streaming is now getting more common now using 3G and is most commonly associated for mobile video. It has been also possible to stream video over both 2G GSM have SMS, 2.5G CDMA and GPRS, and 3G says it promises live mobile video streaming.

Live Streaming Now

With the newest iPhone, BlackBerry and similar “smart-phones” the competition are now making, there are a lot of software companies out there making some great software to stream live video. Onstream Media Corporation is one of them; a leading on-line service provider of live and on-demand Internet video has launched live mobile video streaming service for iPhone and BlackBerry. It says it has a high quality and Ocean20 Technologies Group have used it to stream a live web-cast of the rock band Creed In concert with more live web-cast of bands to come. I like it, live streaming rock concerts to hundreds of thousands of smart-phones, sign me up!

What Else is Already Available for Mobile Device

There are lots of other formats that are currently available or coming soon. Flash Lite 3 by Adobe, Windows Media for Pocket PCs, RealOne Player for Pocket PC, Palm OS, Symbian, Windows and Oplayo is a Java applet and is being used by some mobile carriers in Europe with pay-per-view content but it is for more niche markets at this time but can be used for Symbian, Java enabled browsers on Windows, Mac and Linux. Vemotion is British Telecom development and can be tested for Pocket PC, Symbian, Windows but still in the early stages.

Conclusion

With 3G and the new smart-phones and companies jumping on the bandwagon all the time it is a win-win for us consumers that would love to use this service to stream live mobile video to our latest new gadgets as it will only get better and better in a very short time as it is a very competitive market out there and companies are just waiting to get our hard earned cash. The bottom line, I will have to wait until my friend that says “it sucks now” to give the 2 thumbs up!

Many who have enjoyed AT&T phone service for years are wondering if they should try out the new Uverse TV product. While there are bugs anytime a new service comes out, there are also good deals to be had as they try to entice new customers over. With DirecTV and Dish Network being primary competitors to AT&T, they often invite their customers to compare the channel offers and prices of the two companies. How does AT&T Uverse compare with DirecTV?

Both companies are leaders in the market right now when it comes to high definition channel content. DirecTV claims over 130 HD channels, and Uverse has over 100. DirecTV inflates their numbers by counting pay per view HD channels so in actuality both companies have about the same amount of high def channel content. One advantage Uverse currently has is their Total Home DVR makes it easier to watch your recorded content anywhere in your home. DirecTV is planning to offer a similar digital video recorder in 2010, but at this time you can only watch content on the DVR device hooked up to one television.

The one area many will want to pay close attention to when comparing Uverse vs DirecTV is in the area of sports content. Right now, DirecTV holds an exclusive contract with the NFL for the Sunday Ticket package through the year 2014. So you won’t be able to get that on Uverse or any other cable TV provider for that matter. DirecTV is also a better choice for the other out of market sports packages as well. The NBA League Pass, the NHL Center Ice package, and the MLB Extra Innings bundle are all available through satellite service, but not through AT&T, at least at this time. So serious couch potatoes certainly will want to evaluate whether Uverse TV is the right way to go. If you have additional questions about this new option, reading up on the latest AT&T Uverse reviews will give you an idea of what customers think of the service.

If you are hooked on Canadian tv and you no longer know where on earth to find it, we have the solution for you. Let’s say you grew up in Canada and then moved to another country and miss the shows back home. There is no need to fret because you can now watch Canadian tv online. Yes, it is true and a lot of people all over the globe are already taking full advantage of this fact right this very minute. It is time for you to begin doing the same. While there is no exact Canadian version of Hulu, there are plenty of other options available to you — the best of those being the different Canadian network tv sites.

The only things that you are going to need to be able to watch your favorite tv shows are your computer and an internet connection that is not too slow. If you are going to be streaming tv onto your computer, then to enjoy it your internet connection must be relatively fast. A good broadband connection is ideal, otherwise, the show you are watching will keep buffering every few minutes or even every few seconds and you could end up cursing your computer.

One thing is for sure, you do not have to worry that what you are doing will get you in trouble. Watching Canadian tv online is perfectly legal and anybody can do it. This is typically a free service because sites that offer streaming tv shows know how to make their money through endorsements, commercials or adverts. The only thing that you have to do is find out exactly what channels you want to watch and ‘hey presto!’ Canadian tv online. If you do not know exactly what channels serve your own favorite television series, then you will need to get on a site that offers you a simple guide. You will just sift through the channels by categories and popularity and you will soon be enjoying your favorite tv shows no matter where you are on the planet.

The flip digital video camera was released in 2006 by Pure Technologies to a huge market. The little video camcorder has taken the world by storm with its super compact size and huge high definition video capabilities. It comes in two great models, The Flip Mino and Ultras series. Both are great however the Mino has been the biggest seller according to Amazon since its inception. I bought one of these and must say I was highly impressed. It is about the size of a cell phone and packs a powerful punch. It shoots high definition video and I bought the 120 minute version. There is also 60 minute version for about 50 dollars less give or take.

The biggest selling point of the Flip video camcorder is definitely the easy of connectivity for uploading. It gets its name because it connects to your computer via USB which actually flips out of the device with the click of a button. All you do it plug it up directly and voila you are downloading videos at a rapid rate. This makes it perfect for those quick little videos of your children or perhaps family outings. You can also plug it up directly to your high definition flat panel television and watch your video instantly.

Now there are obviously better video cameras on the market for you to purchase but why pay the extra 500 or 1000 dollars when you can get what you need out of this little nugget for a third the price. Not to mention you don’t have to lug a bigger piece of electronics and constantly worry about where you are going to put it so that it does not get damaged. This is the biggest concern among video camcorder carriers. I know for me personally, I love the fact that I can throw my flip in my pocket and carry it with me anywhere. Ease of use is huge with me and this Flip is definitely the easiest. The women love it as well because it fits in their purse and takes up little room. Its very lightweight as well so all in all I highly recommend the Flip high definition camcorder.

If you’ve got a new camcorder (and lots of people are getting them) then you’ve got some choices and how you want to view your video. You can view it straight from the camera, or you can upload it to your computer then burn a DVD after you’ve edited it, of post it straight to the internet. Each type of camera with it’s various media types (flash memory, DVD, tape) , can make it easier (or trickier) to do what you want.

Some types of camcorders don’t have removable media, so your only choice is to play your video back from your camera or upload it to your computer. Because the media isn’t removable playing it from your camera isn’t a good choice because you’ll quickly fill up it’s memory. Some flash memory camcorders (the Flip Mineo for example) don’t have removable media, and neither do hard drive camcorders. So you don’t really have a choice with those types.

DVD camcorders, some flash memory camcorders and tape models, all have removable media. DVD is the cheapest (although mini DVD’s are more expensive than standard DVD’s) tapes like the MiniDV are the next cheapest and flash memory is the most expensive. Of the three the DVD camcorder is probably the easiest, you just put the DVD in your player. The tape model is next easiest, you put the tape in your camera and hook it to your computer like a mini VCR. For the flash memory video camera, you can remove the card and put it into a card reader on your computer or play it from the camera. SDHC cards (which are becoming standard) are about $20 for an 8 to 16 gig card as of this writing. They’re coming down in price, but still they’re the most expensive option by far.

So you when you’re looking to buy your digital video camera, consider how you’ll be watching your video, and whether or not you mind the extra step of downloading it to your computer and burning a DVD or uploading it to the internet.
