Asus has a lately introduced a mini laptop with a faster processor, improved keyboard and long lasting battery life to attract the heavy users. In general, Asus PC 1000HE has come with a lot of improved features overcoming the flaws of earlier models.

Design and Features
The PC 1000HE mini laptop notebook has a fine look and efficient design. The perfect finishing glossy chassis looks wonderful. The Hard Disk and RAM can be easily upgraded through easy-access panel. The keyboard size is 92% of a full sized one. The keys are perfectly placed and the user can easily type without looking at the keyboard. There are four silver buttons above the keyboard. The first two buttons are to set various resolutions of the display. The other two buttons are customizable. The touchpad is big and has a good control over the cursor. The touchpad supports multi-touch gestures promptly. The new lithium-Ion battery with 8700 mAh capacity lasts for about 7 hrs. It is extremely good wireless receiver, making the browsing effortless. The Bluetooth and wireless Skype connectivity are managed very well. The speakers sound pretty well.

PC 1000HE has Intel Atom N280 processor with 1.66 GHz speed. The internal memory is 1 GB in basic model and can be upgraded up to 2 GB. The Hard disk is 160 GB memory with 5,400 rpm. The screen is 10 inch in size and works with 1024 x 600 resolution. The device is not heavy, weighing 3.2 pounds. It has three USB ports, 4-in-1 memory card reader, and a VGA port for an external display. Additionally, there are microphone & head phone jack, Ethernet port and Kensington slot.

The Good
PC 1000HE with Intel Atom N280 processor has better performance than similarly priced mini laptops. As it uses N280 processor, it boots swiftly with windows XP. Improved keyboard and 7 hours battery life are the impressive factors in the model. It provides easy upgrade facility for accessories like RAM, HDD etc.

The Bad
There are only few Asus mini laptop disadvantages. The device has no optical drive. The glossy case gets fingerprints pretty quickly. The touchpad works slowly when used for multi-touch gestures like rotating objects with two fingers.
